Halloween in the Big Easy
No question Halloween is mine & Judy’s favorite holiday. We were married on the EVE of Halloween and it was the first year Mrs. didn’t go Trick or Treating. We enjoy getting our old house especially spooky and scaring the crap out of kids of all ages.
We’ve been to N’awlins twice for Halloween and I can tell you NOBODY does Halloween like they do on Bourbon Street. If Oct. 31 falls on a Sunday, it’s Halloween Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sunday. If it falls on a Wednesday, they do it up both weekends.
One year we went as jestors, the next time as pirates. Our store bought costumes were no match for the theatrical quality of the costumes there! Here’s just some of them:
Â

Ok, not much costume, here, but impressive, just the same.
Â

Beleive it or not, she wasn’t in Costume! This lady was an awesome blues singer. I’m smiling, but I really was quite frightened!
Â

I think his line was “Tell me your sins, Daughter”
Â

I think they fall off a Mardi Gras float.
Â

Creepy, huh?
Â

The French Maids to the left of Judy were a Mom & Daughter from Tampa. We met them at our hotel just after checking in and bumped into them several times over the weekend.
Â

I’ll probably go to Hell for this one!
Â
Â
Lots of Adams Family characters…
Â

Cousin It.
Â

We thought Halloween was over, apparently we were wrong.
Â

I tried to get all of her head-dress thing in the picture. It was impressive.
Â

Stewardesses. Flight Attendants.
Â

One of Judy’s favorites! This guy came to New Orleans, forgetting his costume. So, he improvised. He stole the tropical plant from the Hotel lobby!
Â

Everybody that knows me, knows I like Girl Scout cookies.
Â

If you venture a little too far down Bourbon Street…..
Â

Damn, whoever I gave my camera to, clipped Big Boy’s head! He looked just like the sign.
